![]() ![]() ![]() Drinks were heavily poured and were not skimped on at all! Very pleasing. However, there was a MAX of 10 mins waiting. At different points, the lines ebbed and flowed. As the movie was playing, my husband and I traded off trips to the bar. The kids' floor got Coco added to their playlist, while the other floors didn't. They kept it around PG-13, it looked like. But nope! All the movies playing were current box office hits! All floors got pretty much the same movies. I had been worried that the movies they would show would be old, cheap films. I got us some drinks and proceeded to our Star Wars: Last Jedi showing. We went straight to the 4th floor and my husband checked our coats. I admired their rationale for this, as everything was incredibly simple once inside. So wear warm clothes for the line! AMC staff did this, again, for crowd control - they didn't want hundreds of people rushing in at once. It wasn't until 7:45 pm that we finally got inside. However, this very unorganized process took about an hour. I figured the AMC would let the VIP tickets in first, and this was correct. Like I said above, we got there around 6:30. My biggest complaint with the party was the line outside. You might have to walk around the block because it's their way of crowd control. The party said it started at 7:00, so we were winding our way through NYPD crowd routes on 8th & 42nd around 6:30 pm. We wanted a kid-free night, so this was ideal for us. This floor is not open to kids, but it looked like the 3rd floor family party was fun too. Here's what I found: My husband and I bought the general admission open bar party (4th and 5th floors). I had many questions, up until the end of the night, of how things would actually work out. Despite them, I booked anyway at the AMC - and I am SO glad I did. As I was booking for a New Year's Eve party, I stumbled across a few negative reviews from years prior. ![]()
